You’re probably thinking you want your photos in a local park. After all, isn’t that where everyone gets family photos? That’s cool, I guess, but here are a few Canberra locations you may not have thought of 🙂

Jerrabomberra Wetlands

Many people in Canberra have never been to the wetlands. They think it’s some super secret place out in the country. Nope, it’s only 10 minutes from the city and, weirdly, not in Jerrabomberra. I love taking families here who want outdoor photos that are a little different. The long grass provides a different background and it’s a fun location for the kids to explore.

National Arboretum

The Arboretum is a gold mine for locations. There is Dairy Farmers Hill with a crazy view over Canberra. The Himalayan Cedars, a giant pine forrest. And the beautiful Cork Forrest. So many locations in one place, all perfect for family photos.

Pialligo Redwood Forrest

I love having shoots in places where the kids can explore. This forrest is out near the airport and is unlike anywhere else around Canberra. The trees are old, giant and sometimes a little creepy. There are clear views of airplanes landing next door and, if you’re lucky, you’ll see a bunny rabbit.

Your House

Yep, that place where your kids feel safest. It might not have the sweeping views of the Arbouretum or giant redwood trees, but this is the place that most reflects your family.

My Studio

This is a space which I’ve designed to feel comfortable and happy. It’s the perfect alternative if you want intimate indoor images but you don’t want to clean your home.
