Tegan & James are two of my favourites…unfortunately I didn’t get to photograph their wedding.
It all started back in 2013, we met, fell in love and they booked me. Then being the amazing people they are Tegan & James referred other friends (Alissar & Nabil) and family (Erin & Ben who will be on the blog soon) to us. We hadn’t even taken their photos yet and they were already telling people about us, total babes. Then I’m sure you can guess what happened next…yep I got pregnant and was due a week before Tegan & James’ wedding. As soon as I reached 12 weeks I contacted them, we worked out an alternative, Annika would photograph the wedding and I would come if I could (none of us thought that would happen).
Tegan & James’ wedding day arrived, a beautiful March day and I was still pregnant. Annika & the lovely Tracy (who was an amazing second shooter, thank you!) photographed the getting ready and the ceremony. Then when it came time for location photos Annika called me “Hi!” she said “We’re just leaving now, are you coming?” “Yep” I replied “I’m just sitting on the couch, wishing that this baby would get out of me” she laughed “Hopefully a walk will get things moving, see you soon.” I met Tegan, James and their bridal party, photographed their location and then sent them off once again in the capable hand of Annika & Tracy.
I went into labor the next day and gave birth on the Monday, I’m so happy now that Walt decided to delay his arrival so that I could be with Tegan & James for a short part of their day.
Tegan & James you guys are the best, as I sat at edited your wedding photos I laughed and got a little bit teary (mainly at James when he saw you Tegan). I was so happy that I got to be apart of your wedding day, even if it wasn’t in the way we originally planned. Thanks for being relaxed, understanding and totally attractive in every one of your wedding photos. Also thank you for choosing us!
Annika, you made having a baby and running a photography business almost stress free, I don’t know what I’d do without you. Your photos are amazing!
