A couple of weeks before Ivana & Sebastian’s wedding we were going over the details for the day…”So you’re getting ready at your parents house? What’s the address?” I ask Ivana. She laughs “Oh you won’t need the house number, you’ll know which one it is by the noise”.
A couple of weeks later I turned into Ivana’s parents street and per her instructions I followed the music and guests to Ivana’s location. The sounds of the piano accordion, singing and laughing filled the air, this was my first Serbian Orthodox Wedding and I could already tell these guys knew how to party. The day got even better as I entered the house and Ivana handed me an amazing cheesy pastry (I don’t remember the name but it was delicious, especially to a pregnant photographer) and introduced me to her lovely bridesmaids, instantly I felt welcome. Thinking back the whole day was a blur of new experiences and a giant wedding party, the largest I’d ever photographed! But the thing that stands out to me is how fun Ivana & Sebastian were, laughing all day and making us feel like apart of the family.
Thank you Ivana & Seb for choosing us, we had a wonderful time and thank you Seb for posing for photos even though you don’t think you’re photogenic (you are). Also Annika thank you for second shooting and being a mind reader, you’re the chocolate sauce to my ice cream.
